Home is where health begins.
Indwell is a Christian charity that creates affordable housing communities that support people seeking health, wellness and belonging.
Since our founding in 1974, Indwell has expanded both the range and number of housing options. We already provide supportive housing to over 1,200 people in southern and southwestern Ontario through our programs in Hamilton, Waterloo Region, London, Mississauga, Simcoe, St. Thomas, and Woodstock.
Standard supports available at all Indwell housing includes housing support staff, and short-term specialized support as needed, whereas enhanced support programs offer a daily hot meal, full-time specialized staff including housing support staff, nurse, psychosocial support, and an addictions worker.
Indwell engages with diverse communities; we actively identify and remove barriers that prevent people from accessing and participating in our services and organization.
North End Landing is a mixed-use building in Hamilton, Ontario, owned by James North Baptist Church. Indwell operates the 45 one- and two-bedroom apartments that are above the church.
The structure’s passive house design uses up to 90% less energy than conventional buildings. That’s good for the environment and means long-term savings in the ongoing cost of operation for tenants, Indwell and the church.
51 residents are supported at Dogwood Suites in Simcoe, Ontario. The quilt graphic reflects the Norfolk quilt trail, incorporating a stylized County crest with an Eastern Dogwood flower motif.
Supportive housing means tenants pay deeply affordable rent and can access health care, social services and in-house community-building activities.
